Krystle Hearley, Confidence & Dating Coach

confidence and dating coach for professional women

Hey Blog World! I hope you welcome me with open arms! At 38 years old, I am a Confidence & Dating Coach. There were many years in my professional life before this title was earned. My story includes being: a Licensed Mental Health Counselor; a United States Marine Corps Veteran; a Primary Caretaker for an ailing parent; and someone with her own struggles. I want to give people a place where they can count on getting relatable information backed by education.

I won’t go into too much detail here. I plan to talk about my own experiences throughout the journey of this blog. One thing I’ve learned about myself, that is appropriate to share in this context, is that I am naturally a very wordy writer. So, that is something (along with many other things) that I am working on.

Why listen to me? Well, I don’t want anyone to blindly listen to me. I’m not here to give advice. Blogging is my way to offer knowledge and personal experiences to help others improve their quality of life. Take nuggets of information that resonate with you, and leave the rest. Maybe try or contemplate new concepts that stretch your comfort zone, but listen to your inner compass. This will be a theme of my work.

I took a Values Assessment in recent years, resulting in my top value being Personal Development. This didn’t surprise me too much. I am a lifelong learner who is always trying new things and building skills and knowledge. What DID surprise me was – I wasn’t honoring this value at the time I took the assessment. Once I accepted the importance of this in my life, life felt more fulfilling, warm, and comfy.

This realization made the next decision in my career journey an easy one. I am a natural cheerleader that believes everyone has the tools inside them to live their life with abundance and happiness. I believe that improving myself has helped me to live my best life with both abundance and happiness. So, now, taking my years of clinical experience providing therapy, I am now a Confidence & Dating Coach helping people already functioning at an average level, go from functioning to flourishing!

What is Personal Development?

Personal Development is a process of self-growth. It includes setting and achieving goals, along with improving: existing skills, work-life balance, outlooks/perspectives, the inner world of a person, and anything else that improves a person’s subjective quality of life. Check out the FAQ page on my website for more answers to commonly asked questions like this one.

Favorite Resources

Let’s start with books that I believe have improved my life:

Atomic Habits by James Clear

Atomic Habits by James Clear

Change Your Brain Change Your Life by Daniel G. Amen, M.D.

Change Your Brain Change Your Life by Dr. Daniel G. Amen

The Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff

I know there are others, but two more things to know about me are:

  1. I have a terrible memory, and
  2. I hardly ever finish books!

I love this age of the video! They are much shorter commitments than books, and I don’t know about you but I STRUGGLED in school to keep my attention on a book, or even a paragraph for reading comprehension exams. So, my favorite video-based resources that have improved my life are:

My favorite theoretical framework for improving one’s quality of life:

Cognitive Behavior Therapy/Theory (CBT). CBT, created by Aaron Beck, involves efforts to change thinking patterns. CBT is based on several core principles, including

  1. Psychological problems are based, in part, on faulty or unhelpful ways of thinking.
  2. Psychological problems are based, in part, on learned patterns of unhelpful behavior.
  3. People suffering from psychological problems can learn better ways of coping with them, thereby relieving their symptoms and becoming more effective in their lives.

Why Does My 1:1 Work Focus on Millennial Women?

Life Coach for Millennial Women

I am a Millennial Woman!

As a mental health professional, I have been educated on how to help a variety of people. However, through my professional experience, I have come to believe that the ability to relate to the person helps good work become transformational work.

The population I have found to most commonly be defined as Millennials are those born between 1981 – 1996, per USA Today, Mental Floss, Statista, and others. As a Millennial born in 1984, I have had similar experiences to others in my age bracket. I have experienced similar familial expectations and values, social pressures, historical events, media representations, and exposure to technology – to name a few.

Specifically, as a woman, I have navigated life considerations such as: do I want to have kids; do I want to marry; when do I give my body to someone; when do I speak up; do I get too emotional; when do I come first; how can I accept my body; should I spend money on improving my appearance; when can I say no; what risks can I take in my career – to name a few!

With experience + education, I can help other women navigate these questions faster, so they understand what they value, need, and want in life. That awareness and self-understanding build a strong foundation for a woman’s sense of self. It builds confidence. It allows women to live their best life, on their terms, and love the journey along the way.

How to Stay Up on My Work

People that know me in my personal life know that I am a planner and like to be organized. I have found that organization simplifies life for me. Therefore, I have scheduled a few regular commitments to ensure I consistently provide value to everyone, while leaving time to value my commitment to my clients and myself. You can expect:

  • A monthly blog post
  • A monthly Newsletter (includes a link to the most recent blog post)
  • A weekly Ladies’ Meetup
